Pioneer in international film festivals and forum on environment and wildlife in India, CMS Vatavaran is organizing a Three-Day screening and panel discussion in Leh for media and civil society.
CMS Vatavaran Deputy Director Sabyesachi Bharti said that the unique green festival from 28th to 30th July will be organized by GoI-UNDP-GEF Secure Himalaya project with the support of Department of Wildlife Protection, UT Ladakh Administration and Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MOEFCC) Ministry.
Sabyesachi said that on 28-29th July, the Film screenings will be held on the issues like water conservation, wildlife conservation, climate change, forest conservation and livelihood & sustainable technologies.
On 30th July, a Panel discussion on “Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on Climate Change Reporting and Himalayan Ecosystem” with media, journalism students, civil society and stake holders in the field, will be conducted. It will be followed by a capacity-building/orientation workshop by award-winning filmmaker Jalaluddin Baba on “Role of Storytelling and Social Media in Conservation”.
